Are you preparing for your 2023 West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE) in January/February (first series)? If so, we’re happy to let you know we are happy to inform you that the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) has published the exam timetable. Official WAEC GCE timings are provided below for those who wish to print. The printable edition (pdf) is also available for candidates who would like to print the timetable.
The West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) has released its official schedule for the 2023 West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE) First Series often called WAEC GCE.
WAEC GCE Exam Date
In accordance with the 2023 WAEC GCE Timetable, the examination is scheduled to begin on the Friday of 31 days January 2023 and will conclude on Saturday, 19 the 19th of February 2023.

Notes
- The difference between Time on the Question Paper and Timetable
If the time specified on the paper is different from that of the timetable, then the duration that is on the question paper should be used. - Question Papers to be Given Out in Advance of the Dates They Are to be Taken
Visual Art 3- Paper 3A: Instructions for the paper will be provided to supervisors 2 weeks before the day the paper has to be completed.
- Paper 3B – Questions will be provided to the candidates two weeks prior to the date on which the exam has to be completed.
- Extra Time for candidates with special needs
Candidates with special needs should be given one and half times the amount of time allocated to other applicants.
