A. SCHOOL OF AGRICULTURE AND AGRICULTURAL TECHNOLOGY

“O” Level Entry Requirements: Applicants who are applying to any Department within the School of Agriculture and Agricultural Technology should have at minimum five O’ Level Credits including English Language Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science Chemistry, Biology, and any other relevant Science subject, which they can obtain within not more than two sessions.

  1. Department of Agricultural Economics and Farm Management
    1. Ph.D. (Full-time or part-time) or MTech (Full-time only) in Agricultural Economics:

      • ‘O’ Level Requirements:
        1. Five O’Level credits (WAEC/NECO/NABTEB) in English Mathematics, Language, Biology or Agricultural Science, Chemistry, and Physics at not more than 2 sittings.
      • MTech Entry Requirement:
        1. (i) PGD (Upper Credit or Distinction) in Food Science and Technology.
        2. (ii) (iii) First degree (B.Sc/BTech) with a major in Food Science and Technology (or Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Agricultural Engineering, and related disciplines, with the minimum requirement of 2nd Class Lower Division.
        3. (iii) Students whose primary qualification isn’t Food Science and Technology are required to review certain Postgraduate Diploma Courses in the Department.
      • PGD Entry Requirements:
        1. (i) Third-class qualification from a recognized university in Food Science and Technology or a similar field from a reputable university.
        2. Higher National Diploma (HND) in Food Science and Technology from a recognized Polytechnic or College of Technology with a minimum of lower credit.
  6. Department of Soil Science and Land Management
    1. Ph.D. (Full-time as well as part-time) within the following specialization areas:
      1. I) Soil Conservation and Water Management.

B. SCHOOL OF ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY

O’ Level Entry Requirements: Candidates who are applying to any department in the School of Electrical Engineering and Technology must possess at least five credits at the ‘O’ level which include English Mathematics, Physics, Mathematics Chemistry, and any of the following: Biology/Agricultural Sciences, Geography, Technical Drawing, Economics or further Maths, not exceeding two sessions.

  1. Department of Electrical/Electronic Engineering
    1. Ph.D. (Full-time or part-time) or MTech (Full-Time only) in the following areas of specialization:
      1. i) Electrical/Electronic Engineering (Power Systems Option).
      2. ii) Electrical/Electronic Engineering (Electronic Option)
    2. Postgraduate Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (Full-Time only)
      PGD Entry Requirements:

      1. Higher National Diploma (HND) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering from a recognized polytechnic or any recognized Institution with at least a Lower Credit grade level
  2. Department of Computer Engineering
    1. MEng (Full-Time only) in Computer Engineering.
  3. Department of Telecommunication Engineering
    1. Ph.D. (Full-Time and Part-Time) in Communication Engineering.

C. SCHOOL OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND MANAGEMENT TECHNOLOGY

O’ Level Admission Requirements: Candidates who want to apply to any Department of the School of Entrepreneurship and Management Technology must possess at least five credits at the ‘O’ level comprising English Language, Mathematics, Economics, and at least two science or social sciences subjects, which must be taken in no more than two sessions.

  1. Department of Entrepreneurship and Business studies
    1. Doctoral (Full-Time as well as Part-Time) in Entrepreneurship and Business Studies.
    2. Master of Technology (Full-Time Only) in Business and Entrepreneurship studies.
    3. Graduate Diploma of Management Technology PGDMT (Full-time only)
      1. Ph.D. Entry Requirements:
      2. Master of Technology/Master with a focus on Entrepreneurship as well as Business Studies with a specialization in Entrepreneurship Management, Marketing, Management, and Finance.
      3. MTech Entry Requirement:
      4. Bachelor’s degrees that have the minimum requirement of the Second Class of Upper Division within a relevant field such as Entrepreneurship Business Administration Finance, Marketing, Accounting, and Economics.
      5. Higher National Diploma (HND) with the minimum of lower credit in related areas of the recognized Polytechnic or educational institution. Candidates must hold a PGD with a focus on Business Entrepreneurship and Administration, or a recognized institution.
      6. Candidates with at minimum the Second Class Upper division in fields that are not social sciences however, with PGDMT from this university as well as PGD to Entrepreneurship or PGD from different recognized institutions could be considered.
      7. PGD Entry Requirements:
      8. Graduate of the University of Technology Minna, the Federal University of Technology Minna, or any other accredited university and holders of a first degree in any discipline of study.
      9. Achievement of Higher National Diploma (HND) and professional certifications like ACCA, CIBN, etc
  2. Department of Project Management Technology
    1. Ph.D. (Full-time as well as part-time) as well as Master of Technology (Full-time Only) in Project Management Technology.
    2. Postgraduate Certificate with a focus on Project Management Technology (Full-time only)
      • O’Level Entry Requirements:
        1. At least a credit score of 80% in five subjects such as English Language, Mathematics, Physics Economics, and additional Science or Social Science Subjects at O or higher in no more than 2 sessions and at least a passing grade on Chemistry or Biology
      • Ph.D. Entry Requirements:
        1. A Master’s degree in the relevant field (such as Project Management, Economics, Operations Research, Statistics, Environmental Science, Science, and Engineering fields) with an at-least 60 percent average B-grade, or 3.50 on a 5.00 scale.
      • MTech Entry Requirements:
        1. A minimum of the second class or less a solid bachelor’s degree earned from the University of the Federal University Technology, Minna, or any other recognized university in the fields of Project Management, Economics, Operations Research, Statistics, Environmental Science, Science, and Engineering areas.
      • PGD Entry Requirements:
        1. 1.) HND in Transport Management, Management Planning, and Engineering field, with a minimum of Lower Credit from institutions that have been reorganized.
        2. A person who has three 3rd Honors Grades from the FUT Minna or any other recognized university in the Environmental Science, Science, Social and Management and Engineering field.
  3. Department of Transport Management Technology
    O’ Level Entry Requirements: Five ‘O’ Level Credits in English Language, Mathematics, Geography, Economics, and one Science Subject.

    2. Doctoral (Full-time or part-time) Master of Technology (Full-time just) for Transport Management Technology
    3. Postgraduate Certificate with a focus on Project Management Technology (Full-time only)
      • Ph.D. Entry Requirements:
        1. A Master’s degree in the area of Transport Management Technology or related fields like Geography, Planning, Economics, Transportation Engineering, Logistics Management, and related disciplines that have a CGPA that is 3.5 on the scale of 5.0 or the equivalent of FUTMINNA as well as any other recognized university.
      • MTech Entry Requirements:
        1. A candidate who holds a Bachelor’s Degree that has a minimum 2 2nd Lower Division Class within Transport Management Technology, Science Technology, Engineering, Economics, Geography, Urban and Regional Planning, Operations Research, Statistics, and or Management Technology from FUTMINNA or any other university recognized by FUTMINNA.
        2. A Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 2 2nd class Lower Divisions in any other field or a minimum HND with lower credit for Transport Planning or Transport, and a postgraduate diploma for Transport Management.
      • PGD Entry Requirements:
        1. Minimum of 3rd class honors from Federal University Technology, Minna, or any other accredited University in areas such as Quantity Surveying, Project Management, Building, Engineering, Urban and Regional Planning, and Estate Management.
        2. Minimum of lower credit in HND issued by NBTE-recognized institutions.

D. SCHOOL OF ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGY

  1. Department of Architecture
      1. Ph.D. (Full-time just) or MTech (Full-time only) in Architecture
        • Specific Entry Requirements:
          1. BTech (Arch) Graduation that requires at least a Second-Class Lower Division. the Architecture program for 5 years.
        • ‘O’ Level Entry Requirements:
          1. A minimum of five (5) O’ Level credits to comprise English Language, Mathematics, Physics, and one of these: Chemistry Economic Drawing, Technical Drawing, Geography Construction Construction, Fine Art, and Surveying.
  2. Department of Building
      1. Ph.D. (Full-time as well as part-time) in the areas listed below:
        1. Construction Management
        2. Construction Technology
      2. PGD (Full-time only) in Building
        • O’ Level Entry Requirements:
          1. Five (5) O’ Level Credits that consist of English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics, along with one of the subjects such as Geography, Economics Technical Drawing, and Biology/Agricultural Science.
  3. Department of Estate Management and Valuation
      1. Postgraduate Diploma in Estate Management (Full-Time only)
        • PGD Entry Requirements:
          1. Higher National Diploma (HND) from an institution that is recognized and has an overall minimum aggregate that is not lower than lower Credit.
          2. A Third Class Degree in Estate Management.
          3. Iii) BTech/BSc Degree that is at least the Second class lower division in the related subject of Federal University of Technology, Minna or any other accredited University.
  4. Department of Quantity Surveying
      1. Ph.D. (Full-time and Part-time) as well as MTech (Full-time just) for Quantity Surveying.
      2. Graduate Diploma of Quantity Surveying (Full-Time Only)
        • O’ Level Entry Requirements:
          1. Five (5) “O” Level credits including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, and one or one of these: Chemistry Economic Drawing, Technical Drawing, Surveying, Geography, and Agricultural Science/Biology.
  5. Department of Surveying and Geoinformatics
      1. Ph.D. (Full-time or part-time) or Master of Technology (Full-time just) in Geoinformatics and Surveying.
        • ‘O’Level Requirements:
          1. A minimum of five (5) “O” Level credits to consist of English Language, Mathematics, Physics, and any two subjects: Chemistry Economic Drawing, Technical Drawing, Basic Surveying, Geography, and Agricultural Science/Biology.
        • Ph.D. Entry Requirements:
          1. MTech students with First Degrees in Surveying and Geoinformatics.
        • MTech Entry Requirements:
          1. B.Tech/B.Sc. (Surveying as well Geoinformatics) degree or equivalent from the University or another accredited university that has the minimum requirement of a second-class honors degree.
          2. B.Sc./B.Tech. Degree in Engineering, Mathematics Physics, Geography, or Physics with Mathematics, plus an advanced diploma in Surveying from an approved university.
          3. iii. A degree of Third Class in Surveying, plus a postgraduate diploma in Surveying as well as Geoinformatics from any recognized University.
          4. IV PGD in Geoinformatics and Surveying With First Class in allied fields such as Geography,
          5. Physics, Mathematics, Geophysics, Geology, and Civil Engineering are to be taken into consideration.
  6. Department of Urban and Regional Planning.
      1. Ph.D. (Full-time or part-time) or MTech (Full-time only) in the following options:
        1. Urban Governance and Poverty Study
        2. Housing and Urban Renewal
        3. Environmental Impact Assessment.
      2. A postgraduate diploma in urban and Regional Planning (Full-Time only)
        • O’ Level Entry Requirements:
          1. Minimum of 5 (5) “O” Level credits from English Language, Mathematics, and Geography. The other two subjects should be in the following subjects. (Physics, Chemistry, Agricultural Science/ Biology, Technical Drawing, Economics, or Government).
        • Ph.D. Entry Requirements:
          1. M.Tech of the Federal University of Technology or M.Sc. from any recognized University in Urban and Regional Planning or related fields like Estate Management Architectural Design, Land Surveying, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Building, Environmental Management, and Planning and Geography with a research thesis and an overall GPA of 3.50.
        • MTech Entry Requirements:
          1. Candidates must hold at least a Bachelor of Tech. or B.Sc. degree that is not less than or B.Sc. degree not less than Second Class (Lower) or B.Sc. degree not lower than Second Class (Lower) Federal University of Technology, Minna or other universities that have been approved or other approved Universities in Urban and Regional Planning, Geography and Planning.
          2. Possessing a postgraduate diploma that focuses on Urban and Regional Planning at the uppermost Level or who have a Postgraduate Diploma in Urban and Regional Planning with fewer credits and one year of post-qualification experience are accepted.
        • PGD Entry Requirements:
          1. First degree (B.Tech or B. URP or B.Sc.) within Urban and Regional Planning, Geography and Planning, and Environmental Science with at minimum 3 3rd Class or HND with a minimum of less than a credit in Town Planning from an accredited polytechnic.

E. SCHOOL OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY

  1. A) Department of Computer Science
      1. Ph.D. (Full-time or part-time) as well as MTech (Full-time only) in Computer Science
      2. Postgraduate Certificate for Computer Science (Full-time only)
        • O’ Level Entry Requirements:
          1. Minimum of five ‘O’ Level Credits that comprise English Language, Mathematics, Physics, and two other relevant Science subjects.
        • PGD Entry Requirements:
          1. I) BSc or BTech/BEng from any recognized Institution that has the minimum requirement of a Third Class Degree.
          2. HND in Computer Science from a recognized institution that has a minimum Lower Credit.
  2. Department of Cyber Security Science
      1. Ph.D. (Full-time or part-time) as well as MTech (Full-time only) in Cyber Security Science
      2. Graduate Diploma of Cyber Security Science (Full-time only)
        • ‘O’ Level Entry Requirements:
          1. Minimum of five (5) O’ Level credits for English Language, Mathematics, Physics, and other two Science subjects. Only graduates of ICT-related disciplines are qualified to apply.
  3. Department of Library and Information Technology
      1. Ph.D. (Full-time or part-time) or M Tech (Full-time Only) with a focus on Library and Information Technology
      2. A postgraduate diploma with a focus on Library and Information Technology (Full-time only)
        • Ph.D. Entry Requirements:
          1. Tech Degree from FUT, Minna, and any university recognized with a degree in Library and Information Science with a minimum CGPA of 3.50 (or 60% of the weighted average.
        • MTech Entry Requirements:
          1. Admission to the Master of Technology Degree in Library and Information Technology is available to students from the Library and Information Technology/Science of FUT, Minna, and Library and Information Science of other universities recognized by the government. These graduates must be able to demonstrate at least:
          2. Second Class Lower Degree in Library and Information Science or Library and Information Technology.
          3. Post Graduate Diploma in Library and Information Science/Technology
        • PGD Entry Requirements:
          1. The applicants must hold at least the third-grade level with a B.Tech Library and Information Technology from the Federal University of Technology, Minna or a Bachelor in Library Science from any other recognized university.
          2. The first degree requires a minimum second lower division class within any field.
          3. HND has a minimum lower credit in all disciplines.

F. SCHOOL OF INFRASTRUCTURE, PROCESS ENGINEERING, AND TECHNOLOGY

“O” Level Admission Requirements Five “O” Level Credits that consist of English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and any one of the following: Biology/Agricultural Science Geography, Technical Drawing, or Economics.

  1. Department of Agricultural and Bioresources Engineering
      1. Ph.D. (Full-time or part-time) AND MEng (Full-time only) in the following specialization areas:
        1. Farm Power and Machinery
        2. Agricultural Crop Processing and Storage
        3. Soil and Water Engineering
        4. Food Engineering
          Notification: MEng in Food Engineering is not offered in the Academic Session 2022/2023.
      2. Postgraduate Certificate in the field of Agricultural and Bioresources Engineering (Full-time only)
        • Ph.D. Entry Requirements:
          1. A CGPA of 3.5 or an overall grade of B (or 60% of the weighted average in the Master’s Degree program from FUT, Minna or any recognized institution.
        • MTech Entry Requirements:
          1. At least Upper Credit at the HND Level or a 3rd Class degree from FUT Minna or any other recognized Institution that has three years’ post-graduation experience in a relevant field for applicants applying for the Masters’s Degree Programme.
          2. The minimum lower or second class of PGD and at least Higher Credits at FUT Minna or any recognized institution to be eligible for the Masters’s Degree Programme.
        • PGD Entry Requirements:
          1. Participants who apply for this programme must possess in their initial degree at least a Third class, and when it comes to HND at least higher credit of upper credit Agricultural Engineering of the Federal University of Technology, Minna, or equivalent engineering degree that is recognized by other Universities and Polytechnics or Polytechnics.
  2. Department of Chemical Engineering
      1. Ph.D. (Full-time as well as part-time) as well as MEng (Full-time only) in Chemical Engineering
      2. Postgraduate Degree with a focus on Chemical Engineering (Full-time only)
        • O’ Level Entry Requirements:
          1. Candidates must possess at least five (5) credits at G.C.E. or O’ degree as well as SSCE or NECO which include mathematics, English, Chemistry, Physics, and any other science subjects at no more than two sessions.
        • Ph.D. Entry Requirements:
          1. Candidates seeking admission to Ph.D. must be Masters’s degree holders of the Federal University of Technology, Minna, or from any other university. Candidates for Master’s degrees should have an average achievement that is a “B” Grade or weighted average of 60 percent or a minimum CGPA that is 3.50.
        • MEng Entry Requirements:
          1. I) at least a Second-Class lower degree in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Technology, Minna or any other recognized university.
          2. II) Candidates with a valid Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) with a minimum of Lower Credit (CGPA at least 2.5) in the relevant subject matter with at minimum, one year of post-qualification experience are eligible for consideration after passing a qualifying exam.
        • PGD Entry Requirements:
          1. I) Higher National Diploma (HND) in Chemical Engineering from a recognized Polytechnic or other recognized institution that has at least a lower grade.
          2. Higher National Diploma (HND) in Minning Engineering, Polymer Engineering and other related fields from any recognized institute.
          3. Degree or HND in Chemistry
          4. B.Sc or B.Eng. with a 3rd class or a pass on Chemical Engineering.
  3. Department of Civil Engineering
      1. Doctoral (Full-time or part-time) with the following specialization areas:
        1. Structural Engineering

          1. Minimum of five (5) O’Level credits or SSCE equivalent, which should comprise English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and any other science subjects (e.g. Geography, Additional Mathematics Technical Drawing Building Technology Biology, Agricultural Science) at not more than two times in a row.
        • Ph.D. Entry Requirements:
          1. The minimum requirement is a CGPA of 3.5 or an overall grade of B and a 60% weighted mean at the Master’s Degree program at FUT Minna or any recognized university.
        • MEng Entry Requirements:
          1. Minimum lower Second Class Grade or PGD, with a minimum of upper credit at FUT Minna or any recognized institution.
        • PGD Entry Requirements:
          1. The Higher National Diploma (HND) in Civil Engineering with at a minimum lower credit.
          2. , BEng., or BTech. The degree must be a degree in Civil Engineering with at least the third grade (Hons).
          3. Highest National Diploma (HND) in water resources engineering. It must have at least a lower Credit.
          4. BSc or BEng Water Resources Engineering with at minimum a third-class (Hons) or equivalent degree.

    1. Doctoral (Full-time or part-time) with the following specialization areas:
